Smudging is a practice that involves smoldering certain herbs which are known for their qualities of purification. By lighting the herbs & letting them smoke, the smoke then cleanses & purifies both the space & those who are in it. Some herbs are considered beneficial for smudging are White Sage/Artemisia, Cedar, Sweetgrass, Lavender, etc. The smoke from the herbs is also believed to carry our prayers along to the Divine/Creator.
All Smudge Sticks are hand-wrapped & made with non-chemically treated herbs gathered locally by myself & my family.
To use a Smudge Stick, light the end over a fire-proof bowl & allow it to smolder. Let the smoke waft around the space. When you are finished with it, extinguish the stick with a bit of water or in a container of sand to ensure it is out fully.
